The first edition of D’Mediators Podcast features an interview with the recently appointed Press Ombudsman John Horgan.
It’s followed by a panel discussion with Seamus Dooley, Irish Secretary of the NUJ; Paul Drury, executive editor, Irish Mail on Sunday; and Roger Brownlie, founder of editorial training company Perfect Bound.
The MP3 can be downloaded at MediaForum.ie; it’s an hour long and just over 40mb.

The High Court in Dublin has ordered the editor of the Irish Times and the newspaper’s public affairs correspondent to comply with the Mahon Tribunal.
The Court said that there is "little or no risk" the order will lead to the revealing of a source of a story on payments to the Taoiseach. However, the Irish Times had said that answering any questions on now destroyed documents could lead the tribunal identifying the source.

Set for the first two weeks are the topics of journalists and Catholic diocesan websites, and the US media on the death penalty.
The forums started after the 2006 Cleraun Media Conference, one of the best known events of its kind in Ireland.
As with previous forums, the organisers are openly inviting journalists, students, lecturers, or anybody interested in the media. The forums are casual small-scale events.

Death threats were also aimed at the press officer of Gerry Adams and several members of Sinn Fein.
